Restoration and conservation of art objects

The restoration and conservation of an art object aim to halt its deterioration, restore its aesthetic qualities, and increase its market value.

Specifics of Our Interventions

L’Atelier du Temps Passé restores all types of painted objects (monochrome or polychrome). From classical sculptures to contemporary art, as well as a wide range of curious objects—whether seemingly anecdotal, often surprising, or sometimes exceptional—each piece is always treated with the utmost respect.

Our Approach to Restoration

For the most classical pieces (icons, sculptures, masks, boxes, screens, mannequins, various small furniture…), interventions are most often conservative, prioritizing the stability of the object without affecting its patina. Aesthetic finishing will only be done afterward and only if necessary.

For contemporary art, if the work is damaged, restoration will always be adapted to the materials (composite materials) and the intervention will aim to faithfully restore the original work.

Preventive advice will always be provided so that the work can be protected as long as possible from the effects of time, pollution, light, and humidity variations.
